Travel Advisory for Jammu & Kashmir, India

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has advised tourists and pilgrims to leave Kashmir immediately because of security threats. Singaporeans currently in Jammu & Kashmir are advised to leave soonest possible. While awaiting departure they are to remain vigilant, and follow the advice of local authorities.

Singaporeans should defer all non-essential travel to Jammu & Kashmir in India, given the uncertain security situation there. 


Singaporeans travelling to other parts in India should continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure their personal safety. They are advised to stay vigilant, monitor developments through the local news, and heed the instructions of the local authorities.     Unauthorised use of NCSS logo

    It has come to the High Commission's attention that there is an instance of unauthorised use of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) logo to solicit funds in India. The High Commission would like to alert the public that NCSS does not have any presence in India nor does it solicit funds in India. Anyone who suspects that he/she is involved in a potential fraud should lodge a police report.

    The High Commission has received multiple complaints regarding the website being authorised to issue Singapore Visas. We would like to caution potential applicants that this website is a fake website and is not authorised to issue Singapore Visas. All visa applications must be submitted through the High Commission's Authorised Visa agents. You can also do so directly through ICA at if you have a local contact (Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above) in Singapore to Sponsor your visa.

Make sure you are in the right website 1) If you have a local contact (Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above) in Singapore to sponsor you for your visa, visit ICA’s website at for details on how to apply. 2) If you do not have a local contact in Singapore, visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website at for more details on how to apply through Singapore’s overseas missions and their authorised visa agents. Reminder: Beware of other websites that claim to process your visa applications. Do not fall prey to these scam websites.

    Exemption for Singapore Citizens Contributing to India's EPF

    Singapore Citizens working in India were previously required to contribute to India's Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPF). Through negotiations with India's EPF Organisation, Singapore Citizens will now be exempted from this requirement with effect from 1 August 2005.
