Travel Notice for Surabaya in Indonesia

There were bombings near three churches in Surabaya on 13 May 2018 and at the Surabaya Police Headquarters on 14 May 2018. Multiple deaths and injuries have been reported. The Indonesian authorities have declared the highest security alert status in several areas including East Java.

We advise Singaporeans who are either travelling to or already in Surabaya to exercise caution, remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions for their personal safety. You should also heed the instructions of the local authorities, and closely monitor the local news.

Singaporeans are encouraged to e-Register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at https://eregister.mfa.gov.sg/ and to stay in touch with your family and friends so that they know you are safe. You should also purchase comprehensive travel and medical insurance and be familiar with their coverage.
