Travel Notice for Saudi Arabia

02 June 2020
The security situation in Saudi Arabia is largely stable. However, due to the ongoing conflict in Yemen, Singaporeans should avoid non-essential travel to areas surrounding the Saudi-Yemeni border. Over the past year, there have been reports of military skirmishes along parts of the Saudi-Yemeni border and occasional drone/missile attacks in Saudi Arabia including on urban areas. We advise Singaporeans to exercise caution and vigilance, and to take all necessary precautions.

The COVID-19 situation in Saudi Arabia remains serious but appears to be stabilising. The Saudi government has initiated a progressive, three-phrase roll-back of its COVID-19 restrictions. Domestic flights and overland travel during the non-curfew hours (i.e. from 0600h to 2000h daily for the whole of Saudi Arabia other than Makkah City and Jeddah City) have been permitted since 31 May 2020. The curfew will be fully lifted on 21 June 2020. However, the suspension of international overland and air travel will remain in place until further notice. Singaporeans in Saudi Arabia should abide by the Saudi government’s COVID-19 precautionary measures including wearing a mask in public and avoiding large social gatherings. Failure to abide by the measures could result in severe penalties.
