The Certificate of Clearance (COC) is issued by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to certify that the subject concerned has no prior criminal conviction in Singapore. The applicant must show documentary proof from the relevant consulate/immigration authority/government authority which clearly states that the COC is required.

Online Application
Applicants may submit online applications at https://eservices.police.gov.sg/content/policehubhome/homepage/certificate-of-clearance-hub.html. Singapore citizens are required to login via Singpass

Non-Singapore citizens who wish to apply for COC are required to submit an online appeal at the same website above. Non-Singapore citizens may apply for the COC online only after the appeal is approved.

Documents Required for Application

  1. Document indicating that a COC is required and for what purpose.
  2. Copy of valid passport (biometric page)
  3. Passport-size photograph (400 by 514 pixels), borderless on a white background
  4. Credit/debit card or i-Banking for online payment
  5. Original hardcopy of fingerprint impressions* 
    (Applicants residing overseas are required to send by post, the fingerprint impressions with eCOC acknowledgement slip)

*Overseas applicants can get their fingerprint impressions taken by a qualified fingerprint officer from a police establishment or an authorised office such as notary public or embassies.

The following documents are required for fingerprint impressions to be taken at the Singapore Embassy. 

  • Online payment receipt
  • 2 passport-sized colour photographs 
  • Original and photocopy of the applicant'passport
  • Fingerprint form
