SINGAPORE’S HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO TAIWAN

The Singapore Government has expressed its condolences and sympathy to the victims of Typhoon Morakot and their families, and contributed US$200,000 (about NT$6.58 million) for humanitarian assistance. This will be sent to Taiwan through the Singapore Red Cross Society. In addition, S$50,000 (about NT$1.14 million) worth of food and medical supplies to assist with relief efforts was delivered to Taiwan by a Republic of Singapore Air Force C-130 transport aircraft on 13 August.
