1 In light of the recent rise in the number of confirmed cases from airport quarantine, the Korea Centers for Disease Control (KCDC) has announced that the Special Entry Procedure will be extended to all travellers regardless of nationality, arriving in the ROK with effect from 00:00 on 19 March 2020 (local time).

2 The Special Entry Procedure involves travellers to:

  • submit a Health Declaration and Travel Record Declaration upon arrival;
  • undergo a temperature check upon arrival (with additional tests required of travellers exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19);
  • provide their contact information (mobile phone number) and address in Korea in the Travel Record Declaration, which will be verified on the spot by immigration officials.

3 The Embassy has been informed by the ROK Government that entry will be denied to travellers who cannot be reached at the mobile telephone number provided.

4 In addition, travellers are required to install the Self Diagnosis App on their smartphone and report their health status every day through the application for 14 days. If they show early symptoms of COVID-19 infection for two consecutive days, the KCDC and local authorities will follow up to take necessary measures.
