MEETING BETWEEN EMERITUS SENIOR MINISTER GOH CHOK TONG AND INDIAN PRIME MINISTER MANMOHAN SINGH, 4 DECEMBER 2013

Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong called on Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi today. They reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations between Singapore and India. They also noted that Singapore and India will be commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations in 2015 and looked forward to the reciprocal State Visits by the Presidents of both countries that year. Prime Minister Singh also conveyed his regards to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

 

ESM and Prime Minister Singh had a good discussion on the global economic situation and geopolitical developments in East Asia and South Asia. ESM encouraged India to continue enhancing its linkages with ASEAN and Southeast Asia, and said that Singapore would do its part to support India’s efforts. ESM is in New Delhi to attend a meeting of the AECOM Global Advisory Board as a Board member.
