INVITATION TO QUOTE FOR INSTALLATION OF NETWORK CABLES AND EQUIPMENT

 

 

The Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore in Hong Kong would like to invite your company to quote for the cable setting.  The specifications are as (Annex).

 

 

2.         All rates and prices quoted should be exclusive of tax.  If any tax is payable, it should be stated separately.  Any enquiries regarding specifications, etc may be made to Mr Allen Low at Tel No: 2527 2212.

 

 

3.         Please submit your quotation by email to Hong_Kong_procurement@mfa.sg or by fax 2866 1239 not later than 12 noon on 13 Oct 2015.

 

 

4.         The submitted quotations must be valid for a period of 90 days from date of submission.

 

 

5.         Your bid will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

            a) Compliance with specifications

            b) Track record of company

            c)  Price competitiveness

 

 

6.         The acceptance and award of quotation will be at the sole discretion of the Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore in Hong Kong and it will be posted on our website.  The Consulate does not bind itself to accept the lowest quotation, or the whole or any part of any offer.

Annex

REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS

 

Rack

  1. 42 Rack U server rack 1000mm (depth) x 800mm (width) x 2100mm (Height) and shall be able to accommodate the standard 19” wide network and server equipment.
  2. The server rack shall include 2 rack mountable trays.
  3. The server rack shall have at least  two (2) Units of (minimum) eight (8) 240V standard 13A power distribution outlets at each side. Each power distribution outlet shall be equipped IEC-320 C14 plug and with a surge protector.
  4. The rack shall have removable front door, back door and side panels.
  5. The rack shall have rear split doors.
  6. The rack shall have doors (front & back) with locks and keys.
  7. The rack shall have integrated metallic earthing bar straps for grounding purposes.

 

LAN Cabling Points x28

  1. All horizontal cabling shall be have a run of up to 90m and with connections made by female RJ45 connectors at each end.
  2. All horizontal cabling shall meet the EIA/TIA 568 TSB-40 Category 6 requirements and fully support 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet networks.
  3. Each run of Category 6 Ethernet cable shall be 4-pair Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) cable.  The suggested suppliers are AMP, KRONE, ALCATEL or RiT. 
  4. The cable jacket sheath shall be of LSHF-FRT (Low smoke-Halogen Free-Flame Retardant) material.
  5. The proposed cable shall conform to Flame retardant test IEC 332-1 and IEC 332-2.
  6. Between the patch panels and the information outlets, the cables shall run without joints or slices using via metal conduits trunking/conduits and terminated using proper tools to ensure Category 6 compliance and integrity.
  7. There shall be a slack of about 1 metre left at the user end for termination.
  8. There shall be a slack of 5 metres left at the patch panel end of the cables in Server Room.
  9. Terminations of both user and rack end will be performed by HQ.
  10. Each Category 6 Ethernet cable shall be laid through a mounting box or equivalent.  The mounting box or equivalent shall be installed and the faceplate to mount the RJ-45 modules onto the mounting box.
  11. User information outlets shall be the single or double outlet ports type.
  12. A transparent plastic label-holder shall be required on the patch panel for easy labelling and identification. Labels shall be easily replaceable from the plastic holder.
  13. The mounted faceplate shall come with shutter.

  15. The RJ45 connector should be securely mounted on the faceplate.
  16. Faceplates and RJ-45 connectors (for both ends of the cable) shall be provided based on the total quantity of network points.
  17. Patch panel shall be 19”, 1 RU, modular and shielded type with capacity to house 24x shielded RJ45 connectors. [NOTE: The patch panels shall be installed at the rack located at the Server Room for secured and non-secure cabling points respectively.  All outlets shall be terminated to separate patch panels for the secured and non-secured cabling points.]
  18. All four pairs of the horizontal cable shall be terminated.
  19. A transparent plastic label-holder shall be required on the patch panel for easy labelling and identification. Labels shall be easily replaceable from the plastic holder.
  20. RJ45-RJ45 patch cords shall be provided based on the number of cabling points, for the purpose of patching between network switch and patch panel and the terminal equipment at the workstation.
  21. All patch cords shall be LSHF-FRT.
  22. Patch cords shall comply with its respective Class Channel specifications.
  23. All patch cords shall be factory terminated at both ends. Field-terminated patch cord will not be accepted.
  24. Patch cords shall be made of stranded copper conductor to provide flexibility in patching.
  25. Supplier must provide cabling documentations which include cabling installation diagram/floor plan that clearly states the cable routing path, faceplate and patch panel labelling details, etc.  These shall be provided in both hard and soft copy.

2U rack mountable Uninterruptible Power Supply with capacity of 3000VA or higher that support 230V and IEC-320 C13 power sockets.
