A Certificate of Clearance (COC), also commonly referred to as Police Clearance, is issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Singapore Police Force (SPF), to certify that a person does not have any record of criminal conviction in Singapore within a stipulated period of time.
SPF has introduced an eService which allows applicants to apply for COC online. Application submission and payment via credit/debit card or I-Banking can be done through the SPF eService website. Access to the eService will require a login via SingPass for Singaporeans and via Foreign Identification Number (FIN) and passport number for foreigners.
For Singaporean applicants residing overseas, you will be required to mail a hard copy of your fingerprints taken at an authorised institution, and enclose it with a copy of the eCOC Acknowledgment Slip, generated at the end of your online application. The COC will be mailed to you, upon SPF’s receipt of the fingerprint impression and eCOC Acknowledgement slip.
For Non-Singaporean (including Singapore Permanent Resident) applicants, you will be required to appeal for COC at the SPF eServices website. Once notified that the appeal is approved, please proceed to apply for COC online. Similarly, you will be required to mail a hard copy of your fingerprints, and enclose it with a copy of the eCOC Acknowledgment Slip, generated at the end of your online application.
If applicant intends to have your fingerprints taken at the Singapore Consulate-General, the following documents should be provided upon application:
a. eCOC Acknowledgement Slip;
b. Original and a copy of your NRIC/Passport; and
c. One coloured passport photograph against a white background, taken within the last 3 months.
For enquiries, applicants may contact the COC Office at +65 6435 8277 between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm from Mondays to Fridays, excluding Public Holidays, or via email at SPF_COC_Office@spf.gov.sg.
