Dr Francis Gurry, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) called on Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister-In-Charge of the Smart Nation Initiative Dr Vivian Balakrishnan on 23 August 2016. During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation between WIPO and Singapore, and shared views on developments in intellectual property.
Dr Gurry is visiting Singapore under the inaugural Intellectual Property Distinguished Visitor Programme (IP-DVP) from 21 to 23 August 2016. Dr Gurry was hosted to breakfast earlier today by Senior Minister of State (Law) Indranee Rajah. During Dr Gurry’s visit to Singapore, he will also be meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S. Iswaran.
