     Professor Klaus Schwab,  Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum paid separate courtesy calls on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister-In-Charge of the Smart Nation Initiative Dr Vivian Balakrishnan today.  During the meetings, they discussed collaboration between the World Economic Forum and Singapore and exchanged views on international developments.

 

 

     Professor Schwab, accompanied by officials from the World Economic Forum, is in Singapore from 19 to 21 June 2016 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam.  Professor Schwab was hosted to dinner by DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam yesterday.  Professor Schwab also visited the Infocomm Development Authority Hive, housed at the Sandcrawler in Fusionopolis.  Professor Schwab was briefed on the Smart Nation Initiative and Singapore’s efforts to harness technology and data to improve capabilities in the government and deliver more citizen-centric services.
