Countries Requiring Visa
Tourists who are travelling with Australian Passports are not required to have an Entry Visa to enter Singapore. However, they must fulfil the following entry requirements:


• A passport with at least 6 months’ validity at the intended date of arrival in Singapore
• Sufficient funds to last for the intended period of stay in Singapore
• Confirmed onward/return tickets (where applicable)
• Entry facilities to their onward destinations, e.g. visas.
• Completed Disembarkation/Embarkation Card
• Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, if applicable


Possession of a visa does not entitle a foreigner to enter Singapore automatically. The grant of a visit pass to a foreign visitor is determined by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) at the Singapore checkpoints and each case is considered on its own merits.


Foreigners holding travel documents issued by the following countries will require either a Business Visa or Social Visit Visa to enter Singapore.


Nationals of Assessment Level I Countries
Georgia**, India*, People's Republic of China^^, Holders of Hong Kong Document of Identity, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Travel Permit, Turkmenistan, Ukraine~, Commonwealth of Independent States** (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan).


Nationals of Assessment Level II Countries
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh*, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan*, Republic of Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mali, Pakistan, Nigeria*, Saudi Arabia^, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia*, Yemen, and holders of Palestinian Authority Passport, Temporary Passport issued by the United Arab Emirates, Refugee Travel Document issued by Middle-East countries and Australian Travel Document

* Holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service passports are exempted from visa requirements.
** Holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service passports are exempted from visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days.
^^Holders of Diplomatic, Service and Public Affairs passports are exempted from visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days.
~ Holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service passports are exempted from visa requirements for a stay of up to 90 days.

If you are visiting Singapore to conduct or participate in a conference, seminar, workshop or gathering of a racial/ communal, religious, cause-related or political nature; or if you are a reporter/ journalist who are visiting Singapore to write a story; or if you are performing at nightclubs and lounges, you will need to apply for a Miscellaneous Work Pass/ Work Permit (Performing Artiste). All holders of non-regular Travel Documents must consult with the Singapore High Commission on visa requirements to enter Singapore.


Visa Applications
With effect from 1st June 2014, the Singapore High Commission will only process visa applications for those residing in Canberra or who choose to walk-in. Our operating hours are between 8.30 am to 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm to 5.00 pm from Monday to Fridays. We are closed on Australian Public Holidays and the week during Christmas.

At the moment, we do not have offices catering to applicants residing in Northern Territory and Tasmania. For applicants who are residing in Northern Territory, you are welcome to approach the VFS offices located in QLD or WA, whereas for Tasmanian applicants, you may approach VFS offices located in SA or VIC.


Applications should not be submitted more than one month before intended travel date, unless special circumstances apply.


Visa Processing Fees
The visa processing fee for every application is A$30 and has to be paid upon application of visa. The visa processing fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the application or if you choose to withdraw after the process of your visa application has commenced.

Service Charge
A service fee of A$65 is chargeable by the Authorised Visa Agent for their services, on top of the visa processing fee of A$30 per application.


Visa Processing Time
The processing of visa applications will take at least 4 working days for Level 1 countries applicants from the date of receipt of complete applications, and at least 7 working days for Level 2 countries applicants.There is no facility for expediting the visa application process.


Documents required

1. Duly completed and signed Form 14A application form (please click on link to download) with 1 recent passport-sized coloured photograph (taken within last 3 months against a white background) attached properly on the form. Please note that scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted. Any incomplete form or false declaration will result in the application being delayed or rejected respectively.


2. For Level 2 countries applicants only – Letter of Introduction form (Form V39A) must be filled out by any Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) who is at least 21 years old. If applicants are not able to provide Form V39A, they will have to provide a cover letter to indicate the reasons and their situation for consideration.


3. Original passport, presented in person, and photocopy of passport biodata photo page. All passports or travel documents must have at least 6 months’ validity from the intended date of entry.


4. Current Australian visa evidence – either Visa Grant Notice or VEVO record – to indicate your valid visa status in Australia.


5. If you are a holder of a PRC passport, please bring along your original or copy of your PRC Identity Card.


6. Copy of confirmed travel itinerary which includes air and land transport itineraries, and accommodation bookings. If the itinerary is not confirmed, please write a cover letter indicating intended flights and travel itineraries.


7. Both Australian contact number and email address, written on a separate piece of paper.
