For Singaporeans Travelling to China
China had announced that as of 28 March 2020, it would temporarily suspend the entry into China by foreign nationals holding valid visas or residence permits. Entry by foreign nationals with visas issued after this announcement will not be affected. The 15-day visa free facility for Singaporeans travelling to China has also been suspended until further notice. The PRC Embassy in Singapore has since announced that starting from 28 September 2020, foreign nationals holding valid Chinese residence permits for work, personal matters and reunions are allowed to enter China without the need to apply for a new visa. If the residence permits held by foreign nationals in the above three categories have expired after 28 March 2020, 0000hrs, they may apply for relevant visas by presenting the expired residence permits and relevant materials to the PRC Embassy, on the condition that the purpose of their visit to China remains unchanged. The PRC Embassy in Singapore has also announced that with effect from 8 November 2020, all travellers from Singapore to China will be required to take a nucleic acid test and an IgM antibody test for COVID-19 within 2 days before boarding. From 1 December 2020, travellers from Singapore to China must apply for a green health declaration code with the “HDC” mark from the PRC Embassy. They may do so by declaring their health condition and submitting the nucleic acid and IgM antibody test certificates, together with the biodata page of their passports, via the web-based Health Declaration Certificate system, at https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/. Travellers will no longer be allowed to board planes with the standardised negative nucleic acid test and IgM antibody test certificates approved by the PRC Embassy and issued by Singapore clinics. In addition, from 5 December 2020, only IgM antibody test certificates which state that the test was conducted using the venous blood method will be accepted.
