PM Lee sends condolence message to President Arroyo regarding Tropical Depression Winnie

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has written a condolence letter to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo of the Republic of the Philippines on the widespread destruction and the loss of many lives from the Tropical Depression Winnie. The text of the letter is reproduced below:

2 December 2004

Excellency

I was saddened to learn of the widespread destruction and the loss of so many lives resulting from Tropical Depression "Winnie".

On behalf of the people and Government of Singapore, I would like to convey our deepest sympathies and condolences. Our thoughts are with the victims of the calamity as well as their loved ones.
