Volcano Fagradalsfjall Alert

Please note that a state of emergency has been declared over concerns of Volcano Fagradalsfjall eruption. On 10 November, Iceland’s Department of Civil Protection issued an Alert Phase warning (second highest on a three-tier scale) following an increase in earthquakes on Reykjanes peninsula. The authorities have issued an evacuation order as a precaution in Grindavik (Southern peninsula).

Singaporeans who intend to travel to the affected areas, or who are already in the vicinity, should take note of these developments. They are advised to monitor local news and developments closely, heed the advice of the local authorities. Singaporeans are advised to take all the necessary precautions for their personal safety, including purchasing comprehensive travel and medical insurance.
