In view of the security situation and risks of terrorist attacks in Nigeria, Singaporeans are advised to defer non-essential travel to the following high-risk areas.
North-East Nigeria: Due to the presence of terror groups, travellers should avoid non-essential travel to the northeastern states of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Gombe.
North-West Nigeria: The northwestern states of Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto continue to experience instances of banditry and violent crime. Travelers should avoid non-essential travel to these areas.
Singaporeans going to or who are presently in Nigeria are advised to remain vigilant, monitor the local news closely, and heed instructions of the authorities. They should avoid places where there are large crowds and take all necessary precautions for their personal safety, including purchasing comprehensive travel and medical insurance. Singaporeans should be familiar with the terms and conditions of their insurance policy.
