The S$1.7 billion Centre is Keppel's flagship project in Qatar. It is the first integrated waste management facility in the Middle East designed to handle and treat domestic solid waste. It also features one of the largest composting plants in the world. The DSWMC formally commenced operations in October 2011. With an initial capacity to treat more than 2,300 tonnes of mixed solid waste, the facility comprises waste separation and recycling facilities, an engineered landfill, a composting plant and a 1,500 tonnes per day Waste-to-Energy (WTE) incineration plant. DPM Teo was briefed on the operations of the DSWMC and given a tour of its facilities.

DPM Teo also visited the soon to be completed New Doha International Airport (NDIA) on 14 March 2012, where he was briefed about the Qatari government's development plans for NDIA by the NDIA project team comprising representatives from CPG Corporation and Overseas Bechtel Incorporated. CPG Corporation, a Singapore company, has been supporting the NDIA project since 2005.

In the evening of 14 March 2012, DPM Teo met with representatives from the Qatari Businessmen Association over dinner at Katara Cultural Village in Doha. The iconic 99 hectare village hosts theatres, concert halls and exhibition galleries as well as restaurants. The Katara Cultural Village is managed by Keppel FMO, a company specialising in facilities management.

Later this evening, DPM Teo will meet with over 250 Singaporeans residing in Qatar at a reception hosted by the Singapore Embassy in Doha.
