Lost Passports

If your passport is lost or stolen, you will need to do the following:

  1. Please report the loss of your passport via ICA's e-Service at https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/esvclandingpage/applesOnlineReport, as well as apply and pay for a new passport and/or Document of Identity (DOI) as necessary. [Note: Your lost passport will be invalidated immediately upon the loss report. If you manage to recover your lost passport, please inform ICA and the Consulate-General. However, your lost passport can no longer be used even if you have recovered it, and you will need to apply for a new passport.]
  2. Lodge the loss of your passport with the Entry-Exit Administration Bureau (EEAB) and the nearest Public Security Bureau (PSB). Request for a copy of the Confirmation of Loss of Passport Report.

ICA is the approving authority for DOI and passport applications. Once your DOI/replacement passport is approved and ready for collection, you will be notified of the collection by the Consulate-General. You are required to:

  1. Bring along the reports from PSB and EEAB, and your NRIC and collect the DOI/passport in person at the Consulate-General
  2. Report to EEAB with your DOI/replacement passport within 30 days after obtaining the Confirmation of Loss of Passport Report and obtain an Alien’s Exit-Entry before leaving China. You may be required to prove to the Entry and Exit Bureau that you have registered with a hotel or a local police station when you first arrived in China. This is to facilitate investigation by the Entry and Exit Administration Bureau before they could issue you with an Exit Permit to leave China. It typically takes about 5 to 7 working days to obtain the Exit Permit for foreigners who have lost their passports in China.
