Bapak Mohammad Ramdhan “Danny” Pomanto, former Mayor of Makassar city, South Sulawesi province, Indonesia, will visit Singapore from 6 to 10 January 2020 under the S R Nathan Fellowship at the invitation of Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Foreign Affairs) (Trade & Industry) Dr Tan Wu Meng.
During his visit, Bapak Danny will have engagements with Senior Minister of State (Defence) (Foreign Affairs) Dr Maliki Osman; Senior Minister of State (Transport) (Communications & Information) Dr Janil Puthucheary; Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Home Affairs) (Health) Mr Amrin Amin; and Senior Parliamentary Secretary Dr Tan. Bapak Danny will also receive briefings from Singapore agencies on issues of mutual interest to Singapore and Makassar, such as economic and tourism development, smart city planning, and climate change mitigation.
The S R Nathan Fellowship is a high-level programme where foreign leaders, prominent personalities and opinion-shapers are invited to Singapore to exchange ideas and experiences on important issues with Singapore leaders and senior government officials. The Fellowship was launched by former President S R Nathan and then-Minister for Foreign Affairs K Shanmugam in November 2012.
