Visit of Bank of Thailand Governor Dr Veerathai Santiprabhob under the S R Nathan Fellowship, 15 to 16 August 2019

1 The Governor of the Bank of Thailand Dr Veerathai Santiprabhob is visiting Singapore from 15 to 16 August under the S R Nathan Fellowship.

2 Governor Veerathai was hosted to lunch by Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat today. During lunch, DPM Heng and Governor Veerathai had a fruitful exchange of views on global economic developments and preparing our young people in the workforce for the future economy. Veerathai’s visit concluded with a dinner hosted by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, during which they had a wide-ranging conversation on international and regional developments. They also discussed how to manage the challenges and seize the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

3 Launched in November 2012, the S R Nathan Fellowship is a high-level programme where foreign leaders, prominent personalities and opinion shapers are invited to Singapore to exchange ideas and experiences on important issues with Singapore leaders and senior government officials.
