Minister of State (MOS) for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs
Masagos Zulkifli will visit Makassar, capital of South Sulawesi
province, and Jakarta from 25 to 28 April 2012.
While in Makassar, MOS Masagos will meet local leaders to
exchange views on strengthening ties between Singapore and South
Sulawesi. MOS Masagos will be accompanied by a business delegation led
by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, which will explore
investment opportunities in South Sulawesi. This is a follow-up to a
recommendation by the Working Group on Investment, one of six
bilateral Economic Working Groups formed at the May 2010 Leaders’
Retreat between Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono.
In Jakarta, MOS Masagos is scheduled to call on Deputy Foreign
Minister Wardana, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, Head of the National
Counter-Terrorism Agency Ansyaad Mbai, and members of the House of
Representatives (DPR) Commission I which oversees defence and foreign
affairs. MOS Masagos will also participate in the Merlion Golf
Tournament, an annual charity game organised by the Singapore Embassy
in Jakarta.
