In response to appeals by the Pakistan Government and United Nations (UN) for humanitarian relief assistance to Pakistan, the Singapore Government will contribute US$20,000 to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) for the disbursement of food aid to Pakistan. There is currently a critical need for food for internally displaced persons. The WFP, with its ground presence in the affected areas, has been at the forefront distributing much-needed food supplies.
