MFA Spokesman's Comments in response to media queries on Taiwan's participation at the World Health Assembly

In response to media queries on Taiwan's participation at the World Health Assembly this May, the MFA Spokesman said:

"Singapore welcomes the agreement for Taiwan to participate in this year's World Health Assembly (WHA) meeting as an Observer under the name of Chinese Taipei. This is a positive development which demonstrates the determination of both sides to set aside differences in order to cooperate in mutually beneficial areas. This is in the interest of the global community."
