MFA Press Statement: Visit by Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Professor S Jayakumar to Jakarta, Indonesia, 12 - 13 January 2009

Singapore and Indonesia agreed on the importance of maintaining and enhancing existing cooperation to better manage common security challenges.

This was reaffirmed when Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Professor S Jayakumar met Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Widodo A.S.. Professor S Jayakumar also held discussions with Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Bambang Hendarso Danuri during his visit to Jakarta from 12 to 13 January 2009.

At these meetings, both sides underscored the close ties and cooperation between security and law enforcement agencies of Singapore and Indonesia.
