In response to media queries on whether any Singaporeans were injured in the Qantas flight QF72 incident, the MFA Spokesman said:

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our High Commission in Canberra have been in close contact with Qantas and Australian authorities, and ascertained that several Singaporeans were injured during the emergency landing of QF72 yesterday. The majority were given outpatient treatment. While a few Singaporeans are under observation, they are in stable condition.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our High Commission in Canberra have been in touch with the injured Singaporeans or their next-of-kin, and rendered the necessary consular assistance. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide consular assistance to injured Singaporeans."
