Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed will visit Almaty and Astana in Kazakhstan from 12-17 October 2008. SMS Zainul will first travel to Almaty, where he will meet with overseas Singaporeans resident there.
Following that, SMS Zainul will travel to Astana to attend the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD). While in Astana, SMS Zainul will call on senior Kazakh leaders and officials, including Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin and Deputy Foreign Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev. Together with the rest of the ACD Heads of Delegations, SMS Zainul will also jointly call on the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
