Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zainul Abidin Rasheed will visit Ghana and Senegal from 20 to 29 April 2008. SMS Zainul will be leading the Singapore delegation to the 12th Session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Accra, Ghana from 20 to 23 April 2008. SMS Zainul is also scheduled to meet the Ghanaian President John Kufour, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Akwasi Osei-Adjei.
SMS Zainul's visit to Senegal is part of Singapore's ongoing engagement of African countries. It will be the first by a Singapore political office holder. In Senegal, SMS Zainul is scheduled to call on President Abdoulaye Wade and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Chiekh Tijiane Gadio.
SMS Zainul will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
