HE Mr Hu Jintao
President
People's Republic of China

Dear Excellency

Please accept my heartiest congratulations on your re-election to the esteemed office of the President of the People's Republic of China. Under your leadership, China has made remarkable progress. I am confident that you will continue to lead China to greater heights in the days ahead.

Singapore and China share close bilateral ties, which have strengthened considerably over the years. This is underpinned by our common interests in many issues, such as those relating to economics, security, education and culture. Your personal interest and support for the strengthening of our bilateral relations has contributed immensely to it.

I look forward to working closely with you to further strengthen Singapore-China bilateral relations as in the past. There is much that our two countries can do together.

Yours sincerely

S R NATHAN
