MFA Press Statement: Call on Senior Minister of State Dr Balaji Sadasivan by Jiangsu Party Secretary Qiu He, 12 April 2007

Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province Qiu He called on Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Information, Communication and the Arts, Dr Balaji Sadasivan, on 12 April 2007 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the discussion, SMS Balaji shared with Qiu the challenges facing Singapore in the face of globalisation. Qiu also highlighted the Jiangsu leadership's preoccupations, and welcomed SMS Balaji to visit Jiangsu.

Qiu is in Singapore with a delegation of more than 30 senior officials from Jiangsu on a training programme under the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng. The 10-day study visit focused on Urban Development and Management and concludes on 13 April 2007.
