MFA Press Statement: Meeting between Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo and Philippine Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo in Cebu on 8 December 2006

Foreign Minister George Yeo met with Philippine Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo in Cebu.

They had an exchange of views on ASEAN. Both Ministers expressed confidence that the Leaders would endorse the Eminent Persons Group's (EPG) Report and recommendations that would form the basis for the drafting of the ASEAN Charter.

They also agreed that it was important to bring forward the establishment of the ASEAN Community to 2015.
