MFA Spokesman's Comments on Minister Jayakumar

In response to media queries, the MFA Spokesman said that Minister Jayakumar is remaining in London for further medical tests. He continues to have a slight fever but he is otherwise in good shape.

Minister Jayakumar will skip the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit in Tokyo, which he was scheduled to attend together with Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong from 10 to 12 December 2003. He is expected to return to Singapore within a few days. Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Lee Yock Suan will attend the meeting in Tokyo instead.
