Travel Notice for Spain

There have been disruptive demonstrations and strikes in Barcelona and other areas of Catalonia which have continued.

Singaporeans travelling to or already in Barcelona and other areas of Catalonia should take the necessary precautions for their personal safety, heed the instructions of the local authorities, and closely monitor the local news.  Singaporeans should remain vigilant, exercise caution around large gatherings and avoid any protests or demonstrations.  They should also purchase comprehensive travel insurance and be familiar with the terms and coverage.

Some of the demonstrations may result in transportation and flights being disrupted. Information on travel disruptions can be at with English translations available. Please check with the relevant airline on the status of your flight and cater for additional travelling time when making your way to the airport.
The Barcelona Tourism Office has set up a call centre (+34 93 285 38 34) to assist tourists affected by the demonstrations. This service is operational daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can answer queries in different languages.Singaporeans are strongly encouraged to eRegister with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at so we can contact you should the need arise.  They should also stay in touch with family and friends so that they know you are safe.  Those in need of consular assistance should contact the 24-hour MFA Duty Office at:
