From 25 Oct 2018, the Singapore High Commission will no longer accept hard copy Singapore citizenship applications for minors. With the enhancements to the online portal for Singapore citizenship applications, SC parents can now use the enhanced eSC service using their SingPass account.
Please refer to the ICA website for more information on applying for Singapore citizenship for overseas-born minors. For info on setting up a SingPass account, please refer to the online instructional guide.
SC parents can still choose to collect the Singapore Citizenship Certificate at the Singapore High Commission in Wellington or in person at the ICA building in Singapore with their child.
Approximately 2 months from receipt of complete set of documents and clarifications. Please note that some applications may take a longer time to process and require further documentation.
Upon approval of the citizenship application, the child may then apply for the Singapore passport. For passport application procedures, please see Application for Singapore Passport for more information.
For all other applications, applicants will have to apply in person at the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.
