Notice regarding Hurricane Dorian

According to latest updates from National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Dorian, a Category 4 storm with winds of around 130 – 156 mph is expected to approach the Florida coast on or about 1 September 2019. Heavy rain, flooding, strong storm surge, and hurricane force winds will be a threat to much of the Florida Peninsula on September 1st and 2nd. In anticipation of Hurricane Dorian’s arrival, the Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in counties in its path.

 

Singaporeans in the path of Hurricane Dorian are advised to be vigilant, take necessary precautions and ensure that you have your hurricane plan in place. We encourage you to visit the US Federal Emergency Management Agency’s website for information on how to prepare for a hurricane. We also advise that you heed the instructions of local authorities at all times, including evacuation orders. Do also stay in touch with your family and friends so that they know you are safe.
