Inspection of Registers of Electors

25 Feb 2019

The Registers of Electors have been prepared and are open for public inspection from 26 Feb 2019 to 11 Mar 2019. The registers contain the names of all qualified electors as of 1 Feb 2019.

Overseas Singaporeans, whose names are listed in the Registers of Electors and have resided in Singapore for an aggregate of at least 30 days during the 3-year period between 1 Feb 2016 and 31 Jan 2019, may apply to register as overseas electors to vote at one of the designated overseas polling stations in future elections.

With the preparation of the Registers of Electors, overseas Singaporeans who had registered earlier as overseas electors will need to re-register if they meet the qualifying criteria as of 1 Feb 2019 and wish to remain as overseas electors.

Overseas Singaporeans are encouraged to register early online at the Elections Department Voter eServices or at Singapore overseas missions (Canberra, London, Tokyo, Beijing, Washington D.C., Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai, San Francisco, New York) that serve as overseas registration centres with their NRIC/passport.

Application for registration as an overseas elector is open all-year round. However, in accordance with the law, applications will not be processed during the period from the 3rd day after the Writ for an election is issued until after Nomination Day if the election is uncontested, or until after Polling Day if a poll is to be taken.
