Monaco
Use our advice together with your own research from reputable sources to plan your trip.
Entry and Exit
Monaco is accessible via France, and France handles immigration matters for Monaco.
There are no routine border controls between France and Monaco. Travellers should therefore ensure they meet France / Schengen entry requirements in practice.
Singapore passport holders do not require a visa for short-term visits to the Schengen Area (up to 90 days in any 180-day period), subject to immigration clearance and meeting entry conditions.
If a short-stay visa is required, holders of a Schengen visa valid for France are also authorised to enter and stay in Monaco.
Travellers entering the Schengen Area should note that travel documents generally must be valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from the Schengen Area; and have been issued within the last 10 years.
EU Entry/Exit System (EES)
The EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) started operations on 12 October 2025, and is being introduced progressively at Schengen external borders. Travellers may be required to provide biometric data (fingerprints/photo).
Safety and Security
Monaco is generally considered safe, but travellers should remain vigilant, safeguard personal belongings, and exercise caution in crowded places.
Travellers are advised to remain alert to the risk of terrorism, which cannot be ruled out.
Local Laws
All visitors and residents are subject to local laws and penalties.
Penalties for drug-related offences can be severe. Travellers should not carry or consume illegal substances.
As there are no routine border controls when entering Monaco from France, travellers should keep their travel documents secure and be prepared to present identification to local authorities if required.
