Finland
Use our advice together with your own research from reputable sources to plan your trip.
Entry and Exit
Singaporeans can visit Finland for up to 90 days within 180 days from the date of initial entry within the Schengen region without a visa, provided no employment is pursued.
Finland is part of the Schengen Area. Entry into any of the European countries in the Schengen Area for short-term tourism, a business trip, or in transit to a non-Schengen destination, requires a minimum three months’ passport validity beyond the intended date of departure. Singaporeans should have their passports with them when crossing borders, even within the Schengen Area.
As immigration requirements can change at short notice, travellers are advised to contact their travel agent or the Embassy of Finland in Singapore at https://finlandabroad.fi/web/sgp/mission/-/asset_publisher/dqNr4C30tdPU/contactInfoOrganization/id/121688 for the latest information.
Safety and Security
Petty crime, such as pickpocketing and theft, does occur. Be aware of your surroundings and take care of your belongings. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash or wearing jewellery.
Terrorist attacks in Finland cannot be ruled out, and Finnish authorities are on elevated alert.
Driving: Though roads are generally in good condition, driving in Finland can be hazardous. Icy road conditions are common. Snow tires are required between December and February each year, and as long as roads are icy. Long, dark nights in winter may reduce visibility on roads. Headlights must be switched on at all times, even during the day.
Local Laws
The sale of alcohol to persons under 18 years of age is prohibited by law. People over 18 can buy alcoholic drinks such as wines and beers containing at most 22 per cent alcohol volume.
