Travel Advisory: Ministry of Health (MOH) Public Health Advisory

Due to the ongoing Ebola disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Singaporeans are advised to defer all non-essential travel to the DRC.

On 16 May 2026, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that the Ebola disease outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus in the DRC and Uganda was a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. The WHO has warned that the outbreak in the DRC may be significantly larger than currently detected, and has assessed the local public health risk as very high and regional public health risk as high.

Singaporeans currently in the DRC are advised to exercise extreme caution and avoid areas with known transmission. For more information on Ebola disease and precautionary measures for travellers, please refer to the Communicable Diseases Agency's website at www.cda.gov.sg/public/diseases/ebola-disease/. Given the rapid developments of the Ebola outbreak in Africa, Singaporeans are advised to closely monitor outbreak developments through reputable sources such as the WHO (https://www.who.int/emergencies/disease-outbreak-news) and Africa CDC (https://africacdc.org).

Singaporeans travelling to or residing in the Democratic Republic of Congo are advised to familiarise themselves with these measures and eRegister with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at https://eregister.mfa.gov.sg.
