2026 FIFA World Cup
The 2026 FIFA World Cup takes place between 11 June and 19 July 2026. In Canada, matches will be hosted in Toronto and Vancouver. Further information on the host cities is available on the official FIFA website.
Singaporeans planning to travel to Canada for the 2026 FIFA World Cup could refer to the following:
Before you travel
• Visit MFA’s Canada Travel Page for general advice and the contact details of the Singapore Overseas Missions in Canada.
• eRegister with MFA so that we may reach out to you in the event of an emergency.
• Visit the Canadian government’s website on information for FIFA World Cup 2026 fans and travellers.
• Download the FIFA World Cup 26 app, check the official FIFA website or join the FIFA Official Fan Info Whatsapp Channels for updated event information.
• Purchase comprehensive travel insurance and be familiar with the policy terms and coverage.
• Make photocopies of the biodata page of your passport and other travel documents, and keep them separate from the originals.
Tickets & stadium entry
• Tickets will not be sold at stadiums. Refer to the official FIFA ticketing page for ticket purchases. Stadium entry requires an official ticket on the FIFA World Cup app. Review stadium FAQs to understand entry requirements.
• Only purchase tickets through the official FIFA platform. Tickets from unofficial resale websites, social media, or third-party vendors may be fake or voided. Use verified official sources for online transactions and check QR code links before entering personal information.
Fan Zones & Public Viewings
• FIFA Fan Festivals, Fan Zones, and Public Viewing areas will be organised across host cities. Rules on what you can bring to fan zones and public viewing areas may vary between locations, so check local guidelines before attending.
• Visit the official FIFA World Cup website for more information about fan viewings.
Getting Around
• Roads and public transport will be significantly busier in host cities during match days. Local authorities may require travel to and from stadiums via specific routes.
• Plan your journey in advance and have backup options in case your choice of transport is delayed, full, or cancelled.
• Plan to arrive well in advance of the event to account for congestion, security screenings, and ticket checks.
Safety & Security
• Heightened security will be in place inside and outside stadiums and fan zones.
• Stay alert, follow local media updates, and report any suspicious activity to local authorities. The emergency number in Canada is 911.
• Always carry a photo ID while attending events. Large crowds increase the risk of theft and pickpocketing, so safeguard your belongings, passports, and travel documents.
Entry and Exit
As immigration requirements can change at short notice, travellers are advised to check with their travel agent, the High Commission of Canada in Singapore, or the Canada Government website at www.canada.ca for the latest information.
Safety and Security
Driving: Snow and ice make road conditions especially treacherous in winter. Seek advice on safe driving in icy road conditions. Snow chains or tyres are advisable and may be required in certain provinces. If you are driving to a remote area, pack extra water, food, and blankets. Do not drive if weather conditions are poor. Drivers are strongly encouraged to purchase a comprehensive insurance plan.
Arctic Travel: Travellers should be mindful that search and rescue in the Arctic is difficult. It can take days for help to reach a stranded ship. Travellers should check with the tour operator on their medical support plans and emergency arrangements.
Local Laws
Declare all food, plant, and animal products to customs authorities on arrival in Canada. Inadmissible goods may be confiscated or disposed of. Failure to declare any of these products is an offence. More information is available from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), including at https://inspection.canada.ca/food-safety-for-consumers/travellers/eng/1389630031549/1389630282362.
Additional Information
