In view of reported security incidents in several Mexican states, including Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Guerrero and Nuevo Leon, Singaporeans in Mexico are advised to exercise a high degree of caution and remain vigilant, monitor the local news, avoid travel to high-risk states, heed the advice of local authorities, and avoid large crowds, protests and demonstrations. They should take all necessary precautions, familiarise themselves with local laws, and purchase comprehensive travel and medical insurance.

Entry and Exit
Singaporeans can visit Mexico for up to 180 days without a visa, provided no employment is pursued.

Safety and Security
Be aware of your surroundings. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash or wearing jewellery. If robbed, it is safer to hand over your cash and valuables without resistance. Use only official taxis. Engage only reputable tour operators and local guides.
Local Laws
It is a requirement to produce identification documents if asked by the police. Carry a copy of your passport and entry stamp page with you at all times.
Drug offences carry heavy penalties. Be mindful of your personal belongings and do not accept ‘gifts’ or packages from strangers.
Additional Information
Prior to your travel, consult your doctor for travel health advice regarding vaccinations required or recommended and purchase comprehensive travel insurance. Insect-borne diseases, including malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and the Zika virus are prevalent in certain areas. Take precautions against insect bites.

2026 FIFA World Cup (Mexico)
The 2026 FIFA World Cup takes place between 11 June and 19 July 2026. Mexico is one of the three host nations alongside the United States and Canada. 13 matches will be played across Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, including the tournament opener in Mexico City on 11 June. Before You Travel

• Download the FIFA World Cup 26 app, check the official FIFA website or join the FIFA Official Fan Info WhatsApp Channels for updated event details and information on the host cities.
• Purchase comprehensive travel insurance and be familiar with the policy terms and coverage.
• Make photocopies of the biodata page of your passport and other travel documents, and keep them separate from the originals.
Tickets & Stadium Entry
• Tickets will not be sold at stadiums. Refer to the official FIFA ticketing page for ticketing details. Stadium entry requires an official ticket on the FIFA World Cup app. Review stadium FAQs to understand entry requirements.
• Only purchase tickets through the official FIFA platform. Tickets from unofficial resale websites, social media, or third-party vendors may be fake or voided. Use verified official sources for online transactions and check QR code links before entering personal information.
• During the tournament, stadiums use FIFA-neutral names: Mexico City Stadium, Monterrey Stadium, and Guadalajara Stadium.
Fan Zones & Public Viewings
• FIFA Fan Festivals, Fan Zones, and Public Viewing areas will be organised across host cities. Rules on what you can bring to fan zones and public viewing areas may vary between locations, so check local guidelines before attending.

Getting Around
• Roads and public transport will be significantly busier in host cities during match days. Local authorities may require travel to and from stadiums via specific routes.
• Plan your journey in advance and have backup options in case your choice of transport is delayed, full, or cancelled.
• Arrive well in advance of the event in case of traffic and crowd congestions, security screenings, and ticket checks.
• Expect mobile phone network congestions.

• Expect heightened security inside and outside stadiums and fan zones.
• Stay alert, follow local media updates, and report any suspicious activity to local authorities. The emergency number in Mexico is 911 and the tourist assistance hotline is 078.
• Always carry a photo ID. Safeguard your belongings, passports, and travel documents, especially in crowded spaces.
• Be prepared for summer heat and stay hydrated.
