Travel Notice for Tajikistan
17 September 2024
Skirmishes had occurred periodically at a disputed stretch of the border between the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan, e.g. in September 2022.
Singaporeans are strongly advised to take all necessary precautions for their personal safety, including monitoring the local news and heeding the advice and instructions of the local authorities. Those travelling to the Tajikistan-Kyrgyz Republic border areas should exercise vigilance.
Singaporeans should avoid all travel to the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border areas and Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast due to the security situation there.
Singapore has no diplomatic presence in Tajikistan, which constrains our ability to extend consular assistance in an emergency. Singaporeans travelling to Tajikistan are encouraged to e-register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at https://eregister.mfa.gov.sg/ so that they can be contacted should the need arise. They should also purchase comprehensive travel insurance and familiarise themselves with the terms and coverage.
As entry restrictions may change at short notice, you are advised to contact your travel agency, or the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Moscow, to ensure that you have accurate information for your specific purpose prior to departure.
