Visit to Singapore by Permanent Representatives to the United Nations Under the 17th Forum of Small States Fellowship Programme, 26 to 31 July 2026

                Singapore will host a study visit by 12 Permanent Representatives (PRs) to the United Nations (UN) in New York from 26 to 31 July 2026 under the 17th Forum of Small States (FOSS) Fellowship Programme. These PRs are from Albania, Bhutan, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Congo, Ghana, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Trinidad and Tobago.


                Co-founded by Singapore in 1992, the FOSS is an informal cross-regional grouping of 108 small States. Launched in 2015, the FOSS Fellowship Programme aims to foster closer cooperation and facilitate the sharing of experiences among FOSS members to strengthen multilateralism and support the development of small States.             


                During the visit, the PRs will have engagements with Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu, Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Family Development Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, and senior government officials.


                The PRs will also participate in briefings and site visits related to international law, digital technology, artificial intelligence, education, and urban planning and sustainability.
