Visit to Singapore by Permanent Representatives to the United Nations under the 16th Forum of Small States Fellowship Programme, 11 to 15 April 2026
Singapore will host a study visit by 13 Permanent Representatives (PRs) to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva from 11 to 15 April 2026 under the 16th Forum of Small States (FOSS) Fellowship Programme. These PRs are from the Bahamas, Barbados, Burundi, Cyprus, Gabon, Haiti, Mauritania, Micronesia, Namibia, North Macedonia, Papua New Guinea, Senegal, and Zambia.
Co-founded by Singapore in 1992, the FOSS is an informal cross-regional grouping of 108 small States. Launched in 2015, the FOSS Fellowship Programme aims to enhance interactions, foster closer cooperation, and facilitate the sharing of experiences among FOSS members to strengthen multilateralism and support the development of small States.
During the visit, the PRs will meet Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment Zaqy Mohamad, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Digital Development and Information Rahayu Mahzam, Senior Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Manpower Shawn Huang, and senior government officials.
The PRs will also participate in briefings and site visits on Singapore’s approach to health policies, urban planning, sustainable development, social services, digital transformation, and public engagement. These engagements will allow the exchange of experiences and best practices on the development policies of small States, whilst reinforcing the importance of building strong partnerships between small States.
