Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim visited Brunei from 22 to 24 March 2026 for Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. Acting Minister Faishal was accompanied by his spouse Madam Hayati Haron, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Family Development Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim and his spouse Madam Afizah Mohd Hassan, and Member of Parliament Lee Hui Ying.
During his visit, Acting Minister Faishal and his delegation conveyed Hari Raya greetings to Bruneian leaders on behalf of Singapore’s leaders. Acting Minister Faishal and his delegation were hosted at the open houses of Bruneian Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Badaruddin Othman, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Halbi Yussof, Minister of Home Affairs Dato Ahmaddin Abdul Rahman, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Abdul Manaf, Minister of Development Dato Juanda Rashid, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Dato Shamhary Mustapha, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Nazmi Mohamad, State Mufti Pehin Abdul Aziz Juned, and former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Aminuddin Ihsan.
Acting Minister Faishal reaffirmed the close and longstanding relations between Singapore and Brunei, underpinned by strong personal ties between leaders on both sides and deep, multifaceted cooperation in areas such as defence, currency interchangeability, trade, food security, and culture. The annual Hari Raya visit by Singapore Ministers to Brunei, a tradition since 2012, reflects the enduring special relationship between both countries.
