ANNEX
BACKGROUND ON THE S R NATHAN FELLOWSHIP
The S R Nathan Fellowship is a high-level programme that brings prominent decision makers and thought leaders to Singapore for exchanges on issues of mutual interest. Launched in 2012, it is named in honour of former President S R Nathan for his distinguished service and active role in expanding Singapore’s international networks. The Fellowship reflects Singapore’s commitment to forging trusted partnerships and enduring friendships around the world.
Each year, the Fellowship welcomes a select group of ministers, regional leaders, parliamentarians, senior policymakers, and key opinion shapers from across the world to exchange ideas and perspectives on issues of common interest with Singapore leaders, officials, and experts. The Fellows also gain firsthand insights into Singapore’s policy thinking and development experience through the exchanges.
By fostering dialogue and long-term partnerships, the Fellowship strengthens Singapore’s global connections and advances deeper understanding and cooperation across borders.
