Visit by United States Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, 7 to 9 June 2026

United States Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau is visiting Singapore from 7 to 9 June 2026.


Deputy Secretary of State Landau separately called on Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong and Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs K Shanmugam on 8 June 2026. Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo also had separate meetings with Deputy Secretary Landau.


During these engagements, both sides reaffirmed the longstanding and substantive bilateral cooperation. Singapore and the US remain committed to developing mutually beneficial ties in sectors such as defence, security and the economy as well as to strengthen partnerships in new areas. Both sides marked the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year and looked forward to the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of dialogue relations between ASEAN and the US in 2027.
