Visit by United States Congressional Delegations, 29 to 31 May 2026.
A United States Senate Congressional delegation (CODEL) jointly led by Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Illinois) and Senator Pete Ricketts (R-Nebraska), and a United States House CODEL led by Representative Patrick Harrigan (R-North Carolina), joined by Representative Gregory Meeks (D-New York) and Representative Michael Baumgartner (R-Washington), visited Singapore from 29 to 31 May 2026 to attend the 2026 Shangri-La Dialogue.
The CODELs called separately on Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong and Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing. Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs K Shanmugam and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan are separately hosting the CODELs to meals. Senator Duckworth also met with Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology Dr Tan See Leng.
During these meetings, both sides reaffirmed the robust and substantive partnership between Singapore and the US. They also had a productive exchange of views on a range of regional and global developments.
Both sides welcomed the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Singapore and the US this year, and looked forward to commemorating the upcoming 50th anniversary of ASEAN-US Dialogue Relations in 2027.
