Visit by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan to Washington DC, the United States, for the Critical Minerals Ministerial, 4 February 2026
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will attend the Critical Minerals Ministerial (CMM) in Washington D.C., the United States (US) on 4 February 2026 at the invitation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The CMM, hosted by Secretary Rubio, will bring together Foreign Ministers from various countries to discuss ways to strengthen critical minerals supply chains. Singapore is a trusted node in global supply chains and an open and inclusive international business hub. Minister Balakrishnan will meet counterparts from participating countries to discuss how Singapore can contribute constructively to global and regional supply chain resilience for critical minerals.
During the visit, Minister Balakrishnan will also meet senior US Administration officials to reaffirm longstanding and substantive cooperation across multiple domains. 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the US.
