Visit of SMS (Foreign Affairs) (Home Affairs) Sim Ann to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to attend the 10th Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, 20 to 23 August 2025

Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Foreign Affairs and for Home Affairs Sim Ann attended the 10th Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on 22 August 2025. During the meeting, SMS Sim highlighted Singapore’s role as a co-founding member of FEALAC and emphasised the Forum’s important role as an avenue for inter-regional dialogue and cooperation since its establishment in 1999, especially amidst the current shifts in global order. SMS Sim reiterated Singapore’s continued commitment to FEALAC, including through Singapore’s national project, the FEALAC Journalists’ Visit Programme (JVP). Singapore has organised 22 editions of the JVP since 2000, hosting over 130 journalists from Latin America. 

SMS Sim also met her East Asian and Latin American counterparts on the sidelines of the FEALAC FMM, including from Indonesia, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. They discussed regional and international developments and welcomed opportunities to deepen links between East Asia and Latin America.
