Singapore’s Humanitarian Assistance for Communities Affected by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka

The Singapore Government will contribute US$100,000 as seed money to support the Singapore Red Cross (SRC)’s public fundraising efforts towards the humanitarian crisis caused by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka.
The Singapore Government will contribute US$100,000 as seed money to support the Singapore Red Cross (SRC)’s public fundraising efforts towards the humanitarian crisis caused by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka. The contribution by the Singapore Government will supplement the SRC’s pledge of S$50,000 to support the immediate needs of affected communities in Sri Lanka.
President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan have written to President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath respectively to convey their condolences over the tragic loss of lives and the destruction caused by cyclone.
